Cavern Technologies has announced its latest expansion of 60,000 sq ft of purpose built, state-of-the-art data center space. This build doubles Cavern’s footprint for a total of 120,000 sq ft of best-in-class, wholesale, colocation space.
Over the past seven years Cavern has experienced rapid growth by focusing on delivering secure, reliable and efficient infrastructure. Cavern’s flexible solutions allow for custom design of dedicated space to support small, medium and large enterprise customers to sustain and grow their mission critical IT installations.
Over 100 of the region’s leading banking, health care, insurance, legal, and technology companies are supported by Cavern’s infrastructure and support team of network and systems engineers and facilities professionals.
Beyond being protected from tornadoes, ice storms, erratic weather, Cavern’s underground location is key advantage in the marketplace.
“With the consistent ambient temperature, our cooling costs are lower than above ground facilities,” said John Clune, president, Cavern. “Being underground our construction costs are dramatically lower, since the hardened F5 tornado proof shell is intrinsically part of where we are located. We are able to pass those cost savings on to customers to increase their data center ROI.”
Cavern’s latest facility was designed by Leawood, Kansas based Bell/Knott & Associates and construction completed by Kansas City, Missouri based JE Dunn’s Mission Critical construction team. The purpose built data center is state of the art with options of dedicated support space, 36 in. raised floor, dual power feeds, fully redundant UPS and generators, high capacity and fully redundant HVAC system, heat and cooling sinks, FM 200 Fire Suppression, multilevel security (including face recognition, biometrics, card scanners and video surveillance), multiple redundant fiber providers, 7x24x365 Access, and SSAE 16 Type 2.
