Uptime Institute has announced an extension of the deadline to enter the 2015 Brill Awards for Efficient IT to accommodate a number of participant requests. The new deadline is December 15th.

This year’s Brill Awards has already attracted 80 judges, drawn from around the world. This distinguished judging panel ensures that winning projects demonstrate resource efficiency while meeting reliability criteria. A complete list of judges is available at uptimeinstitute.com/brillawardsjudges.

In its first year, the Brill Awards attracted 100 worthy entrants from 19 countries. More than 90 industry professionals evaluated project submissions from leading global enterprises, choosing the projects they thought best exhibited efficiency in data center and IT operations.

“Having more entries and judges speaks to the success of the Brill Awards as a knowledge transfer program. More entries means that the judges will see an even greater variety of project type and approaches,” said Kevin Heslin, Brill Awards program manager and longtime data center industry observer.

In 2014, Uptime Institute granted 15 regional Brill Awards, as well as 3 Global Leadership Awards. Brill Award winners last year included Morgan Stanley, Kaiser Permanente, Telefonica, Taiwan Mobile, Fidelity Investments, and others.

The 2015 Brill Awards recognize IT efficiency in five categories, across four global regions: North America, EMEA, Latin America and APAC. Entry forms may be downloaded from Uptime Institute’s website.

The categories are:

  • IT systems efficiency
  • Data center facilities management
  • Data center design
  • Operational data center upgrade
  • Product solutions

Judges are drawn from the end user, vendor, and consulting communities so that the panel includes a wide variety of perspectives. In-region experts and global authorities with local expertise ensure that winning entries utilize best practices in each region and recognize innovation.

Brill Awards winners will be recognized at a VIP dinner held at the Uptime Institute Symposium 2015. In addition, winners will be invited, at Uptime Institute’s discretion, to present at premiere events, including Uptime Institute Network meetings, regional summits, and Uptime Institute Symposium. Winners may also be invited to publish their projects in The Uptime Institute Journal.
