The Open-IX Association has announced that vice chairman of the Open-IX Board of Directors Daniel Golding and chairman of the Open-IX Data Center Standards Committee Gabe Cole will speak at the DatacenterDynamics Converged Chicago Conference, taking place October 1, 2014 at the Hyatt Regency McCormick Place in Chicago, IL.

Mr. Golding and Mr. Cole are scheduled to present a session titled Open-IX: Managing the Network Edge from 11:40 AM – 12:20 PM in Hall 3. The session will explore the mounting need to efficiently and economically transfer traffic amongst different networks, driven by the proliferation of content delivery and cloud applications in the market. It will also discuss the role of accessible, consistent and member-governed exchanges in supporting these increased network demands. Additionally, Mr. Golding and Mr. Cole will address the emergence and growth of Open-IX, which develops Internet Exchange and data center consensus standards that promote efficient, massive-scale interconnection requirements that are clear, uniform and cost-effective. 

Open-IX is a non-profit organized and operated by volunteers from the Internet community who aim to increase the reliability, resiliency and competitiveness of massive scale interconnection for all. Through broad participation of data center owners, network providers and content producers, the Association has produced two standards and certified 21 data center and two exchanges since its inception less than one year ago.
