451Research is pleased to announce the hiring of two new members to its growing analyst team: Penny Jones joins the firm's London office as a Senior Analyst, reporting to research director Rory Duncan on the European Services team; and Chuck Whitney joins the San Francisco office as a Senior Analyst, reporting to research vice president Andy Lawrence on the Datacenter Technologies team.

As Senior Analyst for 451 Research's European Services channel, Penny provides insight into the European multi-tenant datacenter and colocation services markets; European Web, application and managed hosting services; European cloud (IaaS, PaaS & SaaS) services; and Internet exchanges and content-delivery networks. Penny joins 451 Research after covering the datacenter industry as Global Editor at DatacenterDynamics FOCUS for more than four years. She has spent over 10 years writing about enterprise technology, and has also worked as a senior reporter for daily newspapers and the Australian Broadcasting Corporation in her native Australia.

"These additions to the 451 Research team reflect our commitment to expanding coverage of the European services market and further strengthening our coverage of evolving datacenter technologies," said Brett Azuma, senior vice president at 451 Research.

Chuck Whitney joins 451 Research's Datacenter Technologies channel as a Senior Analyst. Prior to 451 Research, Chuck worked with Yahoo! as a Senior Manager of Datacenter Operations. His responsibilities included the Central US and Latin American Facilities and Site Operations, as well as coordination with design, construction, supply chain, community relations and sustainability teams. Chuck's hiring brings this vital perspective and expertise in practical datacenter operations to the growing Datacenter Technologies team at 451 Research.
