Backup Power And The Mission Critical Facility
This month’s full line-up includes practically everything from new technology to proven practices.
As the cover says, this month we are focusing on backup power solutions for mission critical facilities, always a popular topic. Coverage starts on page 26 with guest columnist Carl Cullop of Cannon Technologies, who writes about dealing with power loss. Our focus does not stop there, of course. We have features by Frank DeLattre, of Vycon, who writes about using flywheel technology to ensure backup reliability; Jon Frank, of DC Group, writes about using predictive maintenance to maintain backup power peace of mind; Bhavesh Patel, of ASCO, writes about monitoring solutions to ensure reliable critical power; Aaron Schott, of Mitsubishi, writes about transformerless UPSs; Aaron Rollo, of TSO Logic, writes from a slightly different power angle: using intelligent power management as an aid to disaster recovery; and Ben McKelway shares the story of a hospital that upgraded its UPS for present and future loads.
One other thing alert readers may have noted from the cover — case studies. Mission Critical has traditionally not included case studies in its lineup, but we decided there were so many good stories out there that we would be remiss if we didn’t bring them to you. The section begins on page 30 and will be included in every issue, subject to availability.
And finally, Mission Critical has added Bruce Myatt to its editorial staff as executive editor. Bruce is a long-time contributor to the magazine with his column “Zinc Whiskers.” Look for future contributions from Bruce and look for him on the road as Mission Critical’s latest ambassador. Welcome Bruce!
