Ascent has announced the launch of a multi-tenant wholesale colocation suite in its CH2 Data Center facility. The newly constructed space is now available for lease, with one financial services company already signed and taking residency at the end of April. The space is specifically designed to provide the same powerful, enterprise-level data center solutions deployed in Ascent’s custom, built to suit Dynamic Data Center SuiteSM model to a wider range of customers with diverse computing requirements.

The brand new colocation space offers tenants all the traditional benefits of CH2, including a dedicated onsite electrical substation which gives tenants significant power, price and reliability advantages, a separate secure entrance and a dedicated shipping and receiving area, in a quickly deployed, cost-effective model. Featuring carrier neutral connectivity, cooling efficiency and redundancy capabilities, the shared suite is built to accommodate a variety of infrastructure and power density requirements. Customers also benefit from Ascent’s 24/7 onsite operational support, remote management and Smart Hands services.

“Our products and services have been very well received at the enterprise level, and in discussions with users in the market we know there are many small to mid-size companies looking for this same level of quality infrastructure and service but on a smaller scale,” said Phil Horstmann, CEO of Ascent. “The launch of our multi-tenant colocation suite will allow us to provide highly efficient, cost-effective data center solutions to a huge part of the marketplace we haven’t traditionally worked with, and offer an option that is not currently available to these companies.”

Strategically located in Ascent’s CH2 Data Center facility in Northlake, the multi-tenant suite occupies 36,000 sq ft of space and is equipped with 2.5 MW of critical power. The facility features increased flexibility to accommodate the needs of current and future tenants with 48 in. raised floor construction and 12 ft clear height from floor to ceiling plenum to ensure maximum flexibility and space utilization. In addition, Ascent’s pricing model eliminates layers of complexity to provide customers with ease of service and a well defined total cost of ownership.
