EarthLink Holdings Corp. has announced that for the second year running it earned the number one ranking on the seventh-annual MSPmentor 501 Global Edition, a distinguished list and report identifying the world’s top 501 managed service providers (MSPs).

“We’ve worked tirelessly to evolve our company into its current business IT and managed services focus, and thank MSPmentor and Nine Lives Media for acknowledging our achievements in this important industry ranking,” said Michael D. Toplisek, executive vice president of sales and marketing. “We continue our momentum in key market segments with emerging IT Services, including server and network management and monitoring and FlexCloud hosting. But most importantly, our ultimate success rests on EarthLink’s dedicated employees, who continue to display an unmatched passion for customer care.”

The MSPmentor 501 report is based on data from MSPmentor’s global online survey, conducted October-December 2013. The MSPmentor 501 report recognizes top managed service providers based on a range of metrics, including annual managed services revenue growth, revenue per employee, managed services offered and customer devices managed.

"EarthLink's expansion into cloud and managed services continues to gain traction, according to MSPmentor's research," said Jessica Davis, managing editor, MSPmentor. "This blended approach reflects today's IT market, where customers want to mix and match managed on-premises and cloud capabilities. We look forward to tracking EarthLink's continued initiatives in those areas."

MSPs on this year’s global 501 list lifted their combined annual recurring revenues $2.61 billion, continuing seven straight years of strong growth. Together, those MSPs now manage more than 700,000 servers, according to Davis.
