According to a 2012 report from the Uptime Institute, 49% of IT decision-makers have adopted private cloud architectures and another 37% are currently considering it while 25% of the respondents have deployed a public cloud with another 30% considering it. As organizations weigh the costs and benefits, it’s important to keep in mind that cloud computing can expose infrastructure weaknesses. Because managing an internal or hybrid cloud allows capacity to be shifted quickly, increasing utilization and agility, it can also make it difficult to remain efficient while maintaining performance.
