Telehouse has opened its final phased floor with 1,000 square meters (approx. 10,763 sq ft) of available colocation space at Telehouse West. The data centre facility is located in London’s East India Dock adjacent to its existing sites North and East consisting of almost 20,000 square meters of occupied customer space.
“We look forward excitedly to announce our future expansion plans which will see us consolidate our leading position in Docklands, London and Europe”
Telehouse West had pre-sold over 1,300 square meters to a number of well-known multinationals within the telecommunications and media industry when it first opened in 2010. The success of the Telehouse West project has seen accelerated sales bring forward future plans by three years. Telehouse has taken a phased approach to selling its five floors of customer space, opening a new floor on average every 18 months. Telehouse West can offer power capacity between 2 to 10 kW per rack over shared, dedicated, cold aisle containment, and high-density hosting areas.
Since opening the 5,000-square-meter colocation facility, Telehouse, led by its parent company KDDI Corporation, has expanded its footprint in Europe and its local services to support clients in managing their data centre through newly improved migration, system integration and hardware solutions.
Michelle Reid, sales and marketing director, comments “Telehouse West has been our most interesting project to date. It represents a dramatic change in our customer profile since the beginning of Telehouse North 24 years ago. From dealing with traditional European ISPs and carriers to global cloud and social media companies reflective of today’s internet. As the pioneering colocation provider we have managed to remodel our product strategy to serve a highly diverse, network-rich customer base.”
“We continue to be the number one choice in internet data centres, which has led us to win business within the media and financial sectors as well as web-based organisations. We are proud to continue our role as the dependable mission-critical host to the world’s leading innovative companies.
“We look forward excitedly to announce our future expansion plans which will see us consolidate our leading position in Docklands, London, and Europe”.
Telehouse also expanded further colocation space in Telehouse East in the London Docklands site and its metro site in the city.
