Server Farm Realty LLC (SFR) has expanded its reach in the Chicagoland market by adding a second data center facility located at 800 and 810 Jorie Boulevard in Oak Brook, IL – a Southwest suburb of Chicago. Featuring expansive floor plates of contiguous, open space, optimal power capability, cutting-edge fiber cabling and direct access to numerous communications and network providers, SFR’s Oak Brook facility is designed to support tenants looking for first-class data center, colocation, call center, disaster recovery and Network Operations Center (NOC) space.

“In addition to being one of the best connected facilities in the Chicago market thanks to its expansive ecosystem of existing technology tenants, the Oak Brook data center features close proximity to robust underground telecoms fiber, as well as optimal power and electrical service,” says Avner Papouchado, president of Server Farm Realty. “Backed by SFR’s deep technical capabilities, the region’s dense fiber optic network, and solid infrastructure, the facility provides tenants with the expertise, connectivity and framework necessary to succeed in today’s saturated technology market.”

Formally known as the Oak Brook Technology Center, the property sits on 13.49 acres of land and consists of two mid-rise office buildings totaling 193,688 sq ft of rentable space. Located just 19 miles West of downtown Chicago, the complex is easily accessible from nearby airports and local and interstate highways I-294, I-88, I-290, and I-355. At 66% leased, it offers prospective customers direct access to numerous existing fiber carriers. In addition to accommodating many of the nation’s leading fiber optic carriers and communications providers, Oak Brook is also home to the headquarters of several global leaders such as McDonald’s and Ace Hardware.

This is Server Farm Realty’s second Chicagoland data center project; the company unveiled its 450,000-sq-ft data center at 840 S. Canal St., Chicago in June 2013. Server Farm owns and operates an expanding portfolio of data center properties, now spanning eight facilities with more than 1.5 million sq ft of hardened, state-of-the-art and scalable data center space throughout North America. As one of North America’s leading data center developers, SFR delivers the highest quality physical layer infrastructure solutions including data center and colocation, network, and hardware procurement services.

“Securing 800 and 810 Jorie Blvd. was strategic in enabling Server Farm Realty to expand its reach throughout the Chicagoland market from our downtown location at 840 South Canal,” adds Mitch Kralis, vice president of real estate for Server Farm Realty. “The acquisition also allows our organization to simultaneously fortify its portfolio with in-demand, high-quality services to fulfill the growing technology needs of our existing and new customers alike.”

Transwestern managing directors Gary Nussbaum and Thomas Gorman, as well as senior associate David Matheis brokered the SFR Oak Brook facility sale.
