C7 Data Centers (C7) has announced it will launch Granite Point II, a new 95,000-sq-ft, state-of-the-art data center complex in Bluffdale, UT, in October 2013. Granite Point II will be the most advanced Tier III data center the company has built to date, and one of the most advanced and efficient data centers in the country.

C7 has multiple data centers exclusively in Utah with local, national and international clients, representing virtually every industry in the world and operating production, disaster recovery, cloud, and storage solutions out of C7′s data centers.

Wes Swenson, CEO of C7 stated, “This data center is the culmination of years of listening to our customers, combined with our vision of what a modern data center should be. It is trly world class and state of the art in every respect with a vision for the future. In this day and age, businesses are experiencing rapid IT growth but their data centers are aging. Granite Point II is truly a modern data center, built at the foot of the Wasatch Mountains, and will provide a terrific product for our demanding customers experiencing growth.”

“Building C7 in Utah provides our customers with data center designs and operational mantras that address many concerns the IT buyer has today; such as low disaster risk, abundant low latency connectivity options, future proofing power and cooling, and a footprint they can grow in — all at a lower cost. C7 in Utah offers a cost-effective alternative to the Las Vegas, Phoenix, and Denver markets and is well on par with data centers from Equinix (EQIX), CyrusOne (CONE), and Digital Realty Trust (DRT). The customer experience is our focus, and our designs to provide uninterruptible power and cooling are paramount.”

The design of Granite Point II has been in development for the last two years and construction began in February 2013. The site is designed for 10 Megawatts of power and is expected to attain a 1.2 PUE rate due to the type of equipment and the ambient air the Utah climate provides. Customers with needs ranging from one rack to thousands of square feet can be accommodated with flexible pricing and easily expandable layouts. U.S. Representative Jim Matheson (UT-4), who represents C7 Data Centers’ Bluffdale location, recently toured the bright, cavernous Granite Point II facility and offered his praise to the C7 employees for their hard work in Utah.

Granite Point II substantially raises the bar in what the market currently offers for multi-tenant data center services and is the latest advancement in data centers. Utilizing ambient air cooling, innovative cold air containment, and actuated cooling to variable server head loads, Granite Point II also boasts dense power deployments and monitoring at every level of the infrastructure. 48U cabinets are standard with 36 inch raised floors, under-floor directional plenums, and circuit or metered power. Anti-piggybacking secure access with three factor authentication (access badge, video, and iris confirmation), secure network and carrier rooms and a 24/7 network operations center guarantee strict safety measures. Finally, C7 provides dedicated office suites for its customer’ IT support personnel that are directly connected with fiber right to the data center floor.
