Balfour Beatty Construction has promoted Martin Walsh to vice president, national mission critical. In this position, Walsh will have ultimate responsibility of the national mission critical business under the leadership of senior vice president and business unit leader, Tim Garrison.

Based in Balfour Beatty Construction’s Charlotte office, Walsh will provide business acquisition and operations leadership as well as account management for the company’s national mission critical clients. Walsh will provide support for mission critical endeavors in each of Balfour Beatty Construction’s three regions – East, Central, and West – as well as division support as the company expands its mission critical footprint into new, local geographies across the U.S.

“Martin’s contributions have been invaluable to Balfour Beatty’s success in building a national mission critical team that provides our clients with a measurable, predictable, and repeatable formula for success no matter the geographical location, size, or scope of their project,” said Garrison.

With more than 17 total years of industry experience, Walsh joined Balfour Beatty Construction in March 2012 and has worked with Garrison to develop the mission critical team into a national vertical that supports the entire Balfour Beatty Construction enterprise across all three regions. Prior to joining Balfour Beatty Construction, Walsh worked for Howard S. Wright -a Balfour Beatty company (HSW) in Northern California for 7 years. During his tenure at HSW, Walsh worked his way up through the ranks serving in the capacities of senior project engineer, project manager, senior project manager, and project executive where he cultivated relationships with some of HSW’s highest profile mission critical clients.

Walsh has years of successful experience working with large multi-national companies and has developed and implemented efficient project execution plans based around timely execution. Being Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA) certified and a former DBIA Board Member as well as a LEED AP BD+C, Walsh has a keen appreciation for working collaboratively and effectively with designers to yield the superior results owners demand.
