Server Farm Realty LLC (SFR) has announced that its president, Avner Papouchado, has been selected to speak at The Second Annual Greater Chicago Data Center Summit. The event is taking place on Thursday, June 27, 2013 at the Museum of Science and Industry from 7:30 a.m. to 4:25 p.m. 

Papouchado will join fellow executive panelists led by moderator Tim Huffman, executive vice president and global director, Technology Solutions Group for Colliers International; Therese Cullen, director, CoreSite; Chad Freese, senior vice president, CBRE; Phil Horstmann, CEO, Ascent Corp.; Thomas Kutz, strategic manager technical facilities, 7x24 Lake Michigan Region Chapter; and Edward M. Sitar, manager-Economic & Business Development, ComEd, on the panel entitled Greater Chicago Data Center Market 360: With Continued Demand and Lack of Supply, Is This City ‘Feelin’ Stronger Everyday’? The panel will take place from 8:20 a.m. to 9:20 a.m.  

Later the same day, Dan Flynn, vice president of sales for Server Farm Realty will join a panel discussing the Data Center Development Debate:  Performance Sensitive vs. Undifferentiated Site Selection Decision-Making. From 1:55 to 2:45 local time, the panel, moderated by Sean Farney, chief operating office, Ubiquity Critical Environments, will include Andy Cvengros, vice president – Data Center Brokerage, Jones Lang LaSalle; and Thomas Traugott, senior vice president, Cassidy Turley discussing performance sensitivity, cost effective ‘distant’ locations, endusers vs. developer site selection requirements.  

Papouchado and Flynn’s speaking engagements comes on the heels of Server Farm Realty’s new data center launch in Chicago. Amongst its many features, the 450,000 sq ft facility at 840 South Canal Street boasts a dense network environment, 40 MW of total power and 20 MW of critical load power from 12 feeds and four redundant substations, and a Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) rating of 1.4 or better – one of the lowest in Chicago.
