Future Facilities North America (Future Facilities NA) has announced that it will host a free webinar for data center owners and operators on what to do when airflow management and containment solutions fail.

On Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. PST, Future Facilities will host a free 45-minute webinar entitled BEWARE…When Cooling Best Practices Fail! Part 2, will discuss how to respond to unpredictable airflow problems and containment solutions that don’t work. The webinar, hosted by Ramzi Namek and Eric Fournier of Total Site Solutions, is based on content from Namek’s original post, Honey, I positively pressured the hot aisle, on his blog "Data Centers Unclouded."

Namek and Fournier will present a real customer issue that they had to evaluate. The problem emerged as hot air gathered in front of the racks due to a hot aisle not properly contained. The two experts will explain the issue in detail and discuss their efforts to find an answer to the problem using Future Facilities’ 6Sigma Softwareto study the hot spot and visualize a solution. A discussion will open to participants after the main presentation.

“Since cooling practices are an integral component to data center management, failed efforts are also a regular problem,” said Sherman Ikemoto, General Manager, Future Facilities NA. “In light of these issues, Namek and Fournier will discuss solutions in the face of failure. Webinar participants will be provided with real-life and hypothetical examples of the problem and possible solutions found using the 6Sigma software. A lively follow-up to Namek’s original blog post, the presentation and discussion promise engaging conversation surrounding an issue with which many data center managers and operators are quite familiar.”

In addition to the June 25th webinar, two more educational webinars are scheduled for the end of the month. On June 26th, Future Facilities will present Effectively Leveraging CAD Data in Electronics Thermal Solutions, at 9:00 a.m. PST, and on June 27th, the third webinar, Predictive DCIM: A Necessity to Protect IT Service Availability and Data Center Capacityis set for 10:00 a.m. PST.
