AlteredScale LLC has selected Norland Managed Services, Inc. to oversee operations at Chicago’s 601 West Polk building. Located in an historic, 100-year-old structure, 601 Polk provides 25,000 sq ft of raised floor for data center solutions, the largest contiguous colocation space in downtown Chicago.
Norland will provide all critical environment operations for AlteredScale along with building methods and procedures for maintaining and growing the infrastructure. Situated on the primary fiber-optic ring serving downtown Chicago, and near multiple power substations, 601 Polk is a much sought-after locale for housing mission critical systems.
“Norland Managed Services is very excited about providing our globally unique, industry leading critical environment operations to AlteredScale,” said Steve Manos, Norland’s North American general manager. “Having a strong, world-class operations program is key to staying competitive in the Chicago data center market and partnering with us will give AlteredScale that edge in attracting sophisticated tenants.”
"601 Polk is a flexible facility that provides convenient access to resilient data center capacity," said Kevin Francis, president of Altered Scale. “We look forward to working with Norland Managed Services, Inc. to serve the colocation needs of Chicagoland."
In addition to the 25,000 sq ft of data center space on the first floor, 601 Polk also includes 28,000 sq ft of space on the second floor with existing office and technology space.
