Universal Electric Corporation (UEC) has announced the hiring of Clint Skinner as the Northern Europe region sales manager. Skinner, an industry veteran, comes to UEC with a wide range of experience in both the sales and operations side of data centers in the U.K.

“The addition of Clint Skinner allows us to more aggressively pursue new customers in the U.K. and Northern European markets,” said David Skeans, director of international sales, UEC. “His combination of experience, passion for the industry and professional contacts provides us with great opportunities to grow our business and promote our ground-breaking solutions.”

In his new role, Skinner will be responsible for managing sales representatives, developing relationships with end users and key influencers, such as consulting engineering firms and contractors and promoting products at trade shows and industry events.

Prior to joining UEC, Skinner worked to sell the energy management systems used to monitor and control data center power systems. Skinner’s early career also includes time spent at Goldman Sachs in its data center operations group. He has also worked with data center backup power systems, including experience in both static and rotary UPS systems. His efforts to promote these highly engineered systems have allowed him to develop close relationships with some of the largest data center operators in the U.K.

Skinner is technically educated and has achieved a National Diploma in Electrical & Mechanical Engineering. He brings with him an extensive industry network, covering the engineering community and its end users and  strong technical aptitude, which makes him uniquely positioned to help grow the company.
