Compass Datacenters Completes First Data Center Facility In Raleigh-Durham
The facility’s six-month construction timeline incorporated Compass’ Truly Modular™ Architecture process.
Compass Datacenters has completed construction and commissioning of its first data center facility in Durham, NC, located within Research Triangle Park (RTP). The standalone data center facility is 22,000 sq ft in size with a starting raised floor space of 10,000 that can be expanded in the future. It features 2500 kVA of utility capacity and 300 tons of cooling capacity. The project was completed in only six months using Compass’ patent-pending Truly Modular Architecture. The facility has been leased by Windstream Hosted Solutions.
“By working with Compass Datacenters, customers can have their hardened, Tier III certified, standalone data center facility built in just six months, which is significantly faster than the delivery timelines for traditional methods of construction for this kind of facility. The fact that we have now built both the Raleigh and Nashville facilities within their six-month schedules demonstrates that replicatability is a core element of our patent-pending Truly Modular Architecture,” said Chris Crosby, CEO of Compass Datacenters. “Compass also gives customers geographic flexibility that enables them to place the data center exactly where they need it. Customers no longer have to compromise on location by having their data center located in one of the ‘big six’ data center markets or in a mega campus that makes more sense for the provider than for the customer. We are re-inventing the data center delivery process in a way that gives customers a facility exactly where they want it on a rapid timeline that completes the facility exactly when they need it.”
