The SPM features patented SNAP technology, enabling true plug and play functionality and the ability to easily manage hundreds or thousands of power distribution units (PDUs) across the data center enterprise from a single management console. The SNAP feature lets customers take a PDU out of the box, plug it into the SPM network, and the system will auto discover and configure the unit. Data center customers will immediately start receiving power and environmental information through SPM’s user interface and “single pane of glass” dashboard view.
SPM, as either an appliance or a virtual version, can serve as a user interface to cabinet power information and/or as a middleware solution, integrating with a variety of existing data center infrastructure management (DCIM) solutions. SPM provides data center power and environmental information via an application programming interface (API), supporting SNMPv3. Additionally, SPM can monitor PDUs from APC, Raritan, Geist, and others.
