Emerson Network Power has been recognized for delivering the broadest functionality in Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) by Enterprise Management Associates (EMA), an independent IT and data center management research, analysis, and consulting firm. Additionally, Emerson Network Power’s Trellis platform was given a special award for the “Most Comprehensive DCIM Solution.”
After reviewing more than one hundred vendors claiming to offer full DCIM capabilities, EMA evaluated Emerson Network Power and six other DCIM solutions providers, and the results of the analysis are presented in the recently released “EMA Radar Report for Data Center Infrastructure Management.” Each provider was reviewed and empirically compared across a broad range of measurements that identify product strengths and overall cost efficiency. Emerson was listed as a “Value Leader.”
"The brass ring of DCIM is enabling holistic monitoring and management processes that bridge the gap between facilities management and IT operations," noted Steve Brasen, managing research director at EMA. "Our in-depth evaluation of the marketplace identified Emerson Network Power as the only DCIM Value Leader offering a fully integrated DCIM solution – the Trellisreal-time infrastructure optimization platform – that comprehensively addresses both sides of the equation – bringing visibility to the relationships between all devices and environmental conditions across the IT ecosystem in real time."
On measures of cost effectiveness, the Trellis platform is credited with being a purpose-built solution with fully integrated DCIM functionality. Also called out is its ability to deliver real-time infrastructure views, broad support for virtualization and direct integration with every leading embedded technology platform.
Additionally, Emerson Network Power is deemed worthy of special recognition for having the most comprehensive DCIM solution set, especially because it bridges the management gap between facilities and infrastructure, when other solutions are focused on meeting only facilities’ needs. The EMA Radar Report also praises the Trellis platform for its unique ability to enhance security and support processes of IT equipment as well as of infrastructure, which is the key to providing a holistic DCIM solution.
“We’re excited about receiving this important recognition by EMA,” said Steve Hassell, president of Emerson Network Power’s Avocent business. “It validates our holistic, real-time approach to DCIM, and it shows that the Trellis platform provides the most functionality when compared to other true DCIM solutions and stands far above the crowd of products that can only claim to offer such solutions.”
Registration is now underway for a live webinar hosted by EMA to present the report findings. The webinar will be held on January 15 at 2 p.m. ET.
