In a recent blog post, Dean Nelson, chairman and founder of Data Center Pulse, reported that on September 4, eBay Inc. sent a Request For Qualifications (RFQ) for renewable energy for its data centers in Utah and the West. According to Nelson, the move is “a natural next step following the clean energy legislation” the company helped develop and pass in Utah in May 2012. Additionally, vendors who meet the requirements of the RFQ will be invited to respond to a more detailed RFI under a mutual non-disclosure agreement (MDNA). RFI responses are due by October 31, 2012.
