ViaWest has announced the acquisition of the Las Vegas data center of CoreLink Data Centers LLC, a data center and managed services provider headquartered in Chicago, Illinois. The acquisition will double ViaWest’s total current capacity in downtown Las Vegas.

“CoreLink’s commitment to customer support and providing customized IT infrastructure solutions aligns closely with the ViaWest mission,” states Roy Dimoff, Chairman and CEO of ViaWest. “The addition of these assets expands our presence in the Las Vegas market and enhances our base of established customers. Simply, this investment supports our objective of being a premier technology infrastructure provider in the region.”

“ViaWest has established a reputation and track record for exceptional service and support,” states Jay Snider, CEO of CoreLink. “This is consistent with the CoreLink approach to its customers and we are confident this level of customer focus will be maintained during and after the transition.”

The acquisition represents ViaWest’s latest effort to expand its presence in the Las Vegas market. In May, the company announced its intent to develop a 110,000-sq-ft facility in North Las Vegas, adding to its data center footprint. The North Las Vegas facility will be one of the greenest data centers in the United States, incorporating the latest in ViaWest’s cooling technology, custom designed for the Las Vegas climate. Upon completion, ViaWest will offer more than 460,000 sq ft of raised floor data center space across 24 data centers throughout Colorado, Nevada, Oregon, Texas, and Utah.
