GreenBytes, Inc., a developer of high-performance virtualization optimization solutions, today announced that Steve O'Donnell has been named Chairman of the GreenBytes Board of Directors. O'Donnell brings over three decades of global high technology experience to GreenBytes where he plans to work closely with the executive management team as the company continues to innovate and develop industry-leading optimization solutions for virtual infrastructure.

O'Donnell currently serves as Chairman of the Board at Preventia Limited, Chair of the Advisory Boards at Violin Memory, Inc., and Rackwise, Inc., and is CEO at Chalet Tech, an advanced Big Data Security firm. Previously, O'Donnell was CEO at MEEZA in Qatar, a large data center and managed services business, Managing Director at Enterprise Strategy Group (ESG), a leading analyst firm, Global Head of Data Centre Operations at British Telecom, and member of the Advisory Board at Fusion-io.

Recognized as an expert in green IT and sustainability, O'Donnell has been the recipient of six industry awards including the British Computer Society Best Use of Green Technology. He acts as a spokesperson for the IEEE on Cloud and IT Security. O'Donnell is the author of "What Every CIO Wants -- a Guide for High Technology Salespeople" and is credited as the initiator of the Green Grid's Data Center Maturity Model.
