Emerson Network Power, has launched an improved online ASCO Power University.

From the day ASCO Power University (APU) was created, its goal was to help educate engineers and others who are new to power switching and control about the technology and its application. It also served as a ‘refresher’ for experienced engineers. While the ASCO University still meets that primary goal, it now projects a new look and feel to spread helpful insights and useful information. The new online user interface provides more tools to facilitate easier navigation.

Each asset on the new ASCO Power University site  now contains its own unique URL, allowing for easier sharing of site content. Social plug ins to Facebook, Twitter, and other sites have been integrated into the player for easier social sharing. Finally, videos on the new site can now also be added to a “Favorites” list to make useful content easier to find at a later time.

The “Have Something to Say” section of the site now allows visitors to log on to their Facebook account and post feedback on the ASCO Power University. This capability provides an open forum through social media for engineers and others to discuss important topics and issues regarding technology, support, and service.

Another new feature is the News Ticker. The News Ticker is a scrolling bar halfway down the landing page. It highlights all the new content to the site as well as recent ASCO events. Stay up to speed on all the new content posted to the ASCO University.

The ASCO University maintains seven main tabs to help navigate the site quickly and efficiently. These tabs are: ASCO Videos, Power Service, E-Learning, Trade Experts, Webcasts, Newscast Archive, and What’s New.

The new site layout enables getting up-to-date information on data centers, Critical Operations Power Systems (COPS), new technologies and selective coordination quickly. Most tabs have been renamed to facilitate efficiency and expediency while a user is logged into the ASCO University.

ASCOPower Universityprovides dozens of videos, case studies and other informative content. Review the content as a refresher or get up to speed on new technologies, codes or trends being utilized in the field.

Content will continue to build over time, making the ASCO University a resource of choice for power switching and control information. The “What’s New” tab helps users stay on top of recently released content.
