Iron Mountain is offering a new wholesale colocation offering. Iron Mountain’s flagship data center development in Western PA was designed and built 220 ft below ground and is aptly named “The Underground.” In the years since, the company has reached over $3B in revenue and serves both civilian and government data center users. Numerous government agencies, defense firms and enterprise customers run critical infrastructure out of The Underground.

The Underground has 1,000 available acres of highly-efficient underground limestone space, a renewable underground lake for high-density cooling applications, and a PUE of 1.08. Other features include government-grade security; low-cost, high-efficiency power; and room to grow. The facility is almost the size of a small city – it employs hundreds of people and even has its own fire department.
