Home » Federal IT Spending to Drop Under 2013 Budget Proposal
Nextgov.com is reporting that President Obama’s proposed budget will slash federal IT spending a little more than 1 percent, due to a decrease in Defense Department IT spending. By contrast, IT spending at civilian agencies will rise to nearly $41.7 billion.
In a conference call with reporters, Steven VanRokel, federal chief information officer said that the reductions were caused by both IT modernization and the ongoing data center consolidation initiative.
