CABLExpress, a division of CXtec, expanded its Skinny-Trunk  product line with the Ladder Rack Enclosure, a multimedia patch panel that mounts directly to overhead conveyance. As the first product of its type specifically designed to live above the rack, CABLExpress expects the Ladder Rack Enclosure to save customers space in the data center without sacrificing performance.

Based on comments from customers about overloaded racks with few options to expand their networking capabilities, CABLExpress saw a need for a copper and fiber enclosure that mounts to overhead conveyance.

“A number of our products can be attributed to listening to our customers’ feedback, the Ladder Rack Enclosure included,” says Peter E. Belyea, president of CXtec. “Many of our customers have limited data center space and are eagerly looking to cabling manufacturers for innovative solutions to help deal with it.”

The Ladder Rack Enclosure is a multimedia enclosure that can hold both fiber and copper. When fully populated, it can hold up to 192 LC duplex ports or 96 copper ports (or a combination of the two). Customers are able to stay in compliance with TIA-942 standards, while increasing manageability, keeping dB loss to a minimum and freeing up valuable rack space.

“The Ladder Rack Enclosure fits in nicely with our Skinny-Trunk Solution, which is designed to save space, decrease dB loss and provide a gateway to 40/100 gig speeds,” says Belyea.

The Ladder Rack Enclosure is easily mounted by one person and is backed by a lifetime warranty.
