Computerworld is reporting the results of an experiment that began in January, in which servers, networking gear, and storage systems were set up to run in a shed in Novi, MI. The equipment has been running throughout the seasons without failure. The experiment, set up by David Filas, a data center engineer with Trinity Health, was to prove the point that temperatures can be raised in data centers without adverse effect.

Computerworld says, “the uptime of the systems has been better than what Google and Amazon have delivered so far this year.”
