Following a discussion with DOE, EPA is adjusting its timeline with the intention of finalizing the Draft 2 Version 1.0 ENERGY STAR® Specification for Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS) before the end of 2011. In particular, the updated timeline includes a Draft 3 specification, which will be released later this month, followed by a written comment period and webinar. The specific date of the webinar and the comment period deadline will be announced upon release of the Draft 3 specification In a statement, both the EPA and DOE stated they share stakeholders’ desire to release the UPS specification as quickly as possible, but want to avoid releasing the specification prematurely.
