In response to growing client demand due to the continuing increase in global IT demand, Jones Lang LaSalle has hired 24-year industry veteran Mark Bauer as managing director in the firm’s Data Center Solutions (DCS) group. Additionally, technology industry expert Carter Robinson has joined as an associate to work closely with Bauer on the information technology component of mission critical solutions.

The addition of Bauer solidifies Jones Lang LaSalle’s position as a leader in data center solutions for companies around the globe. In just over a year, Jones Lang LaSalle has grown its DCS capabilities by more than 25 percent with the addition of senior executives in Hong Kong, Los Angeles, New Jersey, Silicon Valley and Singapore.

The DCS group (formerly known as Mission Critical Solutions) provides a full range of data center and colocation services, including site selection, site due diligence, project financing, development, project management, public incentives negotiations and ongoing critical facilities management.

Bauer, based in the firm’s Phoenix office, will partner with Los Angeles-based Jason Warner to build Jones Lang LaSalle's DCS business and to serve client needs throughout the Western U.S., teaming with other DCS team members to manage assignments around the globe.

Bauer is considered one of the country’s leading experts on mission critical solutions including national site selection for large enterprise data center users, consulting and strategy for major telecommunications companies as well as development and implementation in all areas of wholesale and retail colocation operations. Among his past positions, he served as a Senior Vice President for a national brokerage firm where he specialized in data centers. Prior to that, he was an office property specialist focusing on landlord and tenant representation services. Throughout his career, Bauer has completed more than eight million square feet of transactions valued at more than $2.5 billion.

Bauer graduated from the University of Minnesota with a bachelor’s of arts degree in business and communication. He is an active member in the Arizona chapters of 7x24 Exchange and AFCOM as well as ULI and the Arizona Technology Council. He resides in Paradise Valley with his wife of 18 years, Susan, and their three children: Kevin, Madelaine, and Clark.

Robinson, a graduate from Arizona State University, earned his bachelor’s of science degree in finance. He has an extensive knowledge of the information technology sector. Previously, he has held positions at a national brokerage firm specializing in data centers and a content delivery network with a focus on college athletics. Robinson's experience will assist Bauer both at a strategic and operational level.
