QTS (Quality Technology Services), one of the nation’s largest and fastest-growing providers of data center facilities and managed services, today announced that it has been chosen by Cross Country Home Services, Inc., a leading home warranty, home service plan and homeowner emergency assistance program provider, for colocation space to house its primary production environment. Terms of the multi-year agreement were not disclosed.

QTS provides Cross Country Home Services with secure, redundant colocation space with a unique “2N” uninterruptible power system (UPS) configuration that many other data center operators cannot provide. The 2N configuration draws power from two completely separate UPS units, ensuring greater reliability and up-time, which is key because of the critical business data and systems that will be housed within the QTS facility.

“QTS certainly had the most impressive facility. By providing both redundant power to our production equipment and redundant Internet for our web services, we are better able to provide high availability to our customers on a 24 by seven by 365 basis. Both size and capability-wise it was clear that they offered more power and configuration options than other companies we considered,” said Chuck Matulik, Senior Manager of Network, Systems, & Telecom for Cross Country Home Services. “The team also went the extra mile to make us comfortable with choosing QTS, and was able to offer additional capabilities that weren’t options elsewhere.”

“By partnering with QTS, we were able to move our service-critical production environment from tropical weather-susceptible South Florida to the highly available, state-of-the-art Suwanee hosting center,” said Joel Steigelfest, CIO of Cross Country Home Services. “This colocation arrangement allows us to better serve our customers and clients while focusing our internal IT resources on strategic initiatives.” In addition to colocation and specialized configuration, the new facility is in close proximity to Cross Country Home Services’ South Carolina facility, allowing engineers and technicians to be at the site with only a 90-minute drive, versus the air travel necessary to get to other locations considered. Cross Country Home Services also has availability of office and conference space for use in hosting their customers, partners, or vendors.

“With the great space availability within our Suwanee facility and all of the configuration possibilities available there, it was easy to customize a configuration to meet Cross Country Home Services’ unique needs,” said Brian Johnston, COO of QTS. “And in designing a facility that offers not only great raised floor space but also well-appointed office and conference space, we’re able to offer extra amenities to customers that can add value and make doing business within our facilities much easier.”
