Electronic Environments Corporation (EEC) is celebrating 25 years of success as a niche-based design, construction, and maintenance services (with emphasis on electrical and mechanical systems) company focused solely on the technical infrastructure supporting data center and telecommunication operations. From our headquarters in Marlborough, MA-EEC has serviced facilities throughout the United States.

“Providing design, installation and 24x7 maintenance services to support some of the largest and best-known technology companies has been both an exciting and challenging endeavor” states Ken Rapoport, CEO and founder of EEC. “Evolutionary, even revolutionary, changes have taken place during these 25 years; from central mainframe computer facilities-to distributed PC networks-to nationwide wireless, fiber-optic and broadband systems-with now millions of concurrent end users demanding 99.999% availability at ever lower costs. Throughout all of this change, however, EEC has never lost its focus on the keys to success in a competitive marketplace: constant innovation and a commitment of the highest level of “Reliability, Performance and Value” to our customers.

To succeed, EEC has always invested heavily in technology, tools, and training. Since 1986, we have embraced CAD/CAE tools to efficiently develop and test our computer room designs for performance and reliability. Later, we developed our wireless field service software, Infrastructure Manager, to efficiently capture maintenance data, offering predictive failure warnings to our customers through a secure web portal. This software also includes comprehensive asset management and capacity planning tools. EEC invests in specialized tools such as thermography cameras, megawatt load banks, and fuel polishing systems to help proactively identify and rectify potential problems.

Monitoring our customer facilities’ regional weather and national news reports; our Network Operation Center is ready to dispatch our entire team of managers, engineers, construction and service personnel to assist customers in preventing and/or responding to any possible disruptions to their technology systems 24 x 7 x 365. EEC has always responded-regardless of natural disasters – to help our customers. We have always recognized that “failure is never an option.”

As we look to the future, EEC is actively assisting customers with critical environmental issues. Utilizing new practices such as the Demand Based Cooling (DBC) airflow management solution from AdaptivCOOL, we are able to increase energy efficiency through reducing power costs or increasing the capacity of customers’ current technology spaces. We will continue to spur innovation, to not only push ourselves to be better but to offer our customers better services and solutions for their critical infrastructures.

We look forward to another 25 years of serving the data center and telecommunication markets.
