Both these questions come from the same reader:


1. Historically, DC’s have been run at about 70 degrees F. Yet, most servers are capable of running at much higher temperature. Of course there is a risk in life span in this. My question is why is there no university or institute giving the industry direction based on hard scientific data. Can we get an institute to set up a set of servers and run them at temp up to 85 degrees and actually measure what the affect is?


2. The DC study to Congress has been complete for a while. The impact to the national grid is well documented. Where is the response from the feds on tax breaks for proof of energy reduction in the DC?
