SynapSense Corporation’s Data Center Assessment and Optimization Service is part of its Data Center Monitoring and Energy Management Solution. The service includes yearly assessments and collaboration with customers to optimize their data centers, targeting a 20 to 35 percent reduction in cooling energy. Once the assessment is complete, SynapSense provides a report detailing optimization opportunities, corresponding cost, expected energy savings, and overall return on investment (including the time expected to recoup investment). SynapSense also coordinates with the local utility provider for the data center customer to take advantage of the rebates or qualified incentive programs when available. SynapSense then works directly with customers to implement the recommendations within the report that typically include rebalancing the raised floor, air mixing mitigation, matching cooling capacity to the IT load, and planning cooling capacity for additional IT load, as necessary.
