Generac Power Systems has announced the release of its new and more powerful Gemini Twin Pack gen set with a rating of 1000 kW. Using Generac’s onboard paralleling technology, Gemini’s power is produced by two 500-kW gen sets operating within a single, sound-attenuated enclosure. The new model takes the place of the 600 and 750-kW Gemini gen sets that were introduced in 2002. The Gemini Twin Pack gen set is well suited to a wide variety of applications, including hospitals, airports, office buildings, manufacturing plants, data centers, and retail superstores. The Gemini platform is powered by a pair of 16-l Volvo six cylinder in-line Tier II diesel engines (compliant through January 2011), each one powering a 500-kW alternator at 1800 rpm.
