nlyte Software, a provider of Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) solutions, today announced that ACS, A Xerox Company, selected the nlyte DCPM Suite to drive their green data center program.

“As part of our plan to deliver IT services to our customers in the most effective and environmentally sustainable way, we decided that we needed a data center infrastructure management tool.”

The purchase decision was driven by ACS’ goal of providing innovative and competitive outsourcing solutions to their customers, leading to a plan to consolidate their EMEA data center estate into a smaller number of highly efficient, modular data centers. To minimize carbon emissions to meet the UK’s CRC Energy Efficiency Scheme legislative requirements and address environmental concerns meant the new data center had to utilize the latest power management technologies and best practice management processes.

“As part of our plan to deliver IT services to our customers in the most effective and environmentally sustainable way, we decided that we needed a data center infrastructure management tool,” said Alan Brooks, managing director, UK ITO Operations, ACS. “The introduction of business intelligence-based DCIM processes will enable us to better manage our customers’ IT requirements and build an on-going relationship with them.”

The nlyte software was installed at ACS’ new flagship data center in Telford, UK which opened in March 2010. The solution will be used to drive compliance and governance-based processes for management of all data center assets. It will also deliver a completely integrated end-to-end sales and delivery process matching data center capacity and capability to business needs. At the core of this data center enablement process, nlyte will ensure complete alignment between sales opportunities and data center assets from the provision of customized floor plan designs for sales proposals through to on-going service delivery processes.

The plan is then to use nlyte Software to help manage the EMEA-wide consolidation and migration project and to retro-fit the solution alongside other new power management technologies, into the consolidated EMEA data center estate.

“The ability to gain insight and drive performance throughout the data center will be imperative for ACS and our DCPM Suite will enable them to do just that,” said Jon Temple, President and CEO of nlyte Software. “Working together, we will be helping ACS to maximize the efficiency and performance of their data centers while simultaneously supporting their green initiatives to cut carbon emissions and minimize energy consumption.”
