Castle Access, a Southern California provider of enterprise data center colocation and managed services, announced today that its 88,000 square-foot flagship enterprise data center on World Trade Drive in Rancho Bernardo, California, has once again successfully completed a full SAS 70 Type II audit.

The Statement on Auditing Standards (SAS) 70 Type II audit, developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), is an internationally recognized in-depth auditing standard that reviews control objectives and control activities for service providers including business practices, communication, internal procedures, and security.

Grant Thornton, a third-party independent auditing firm, performed the SAS 70 Type II audit for Castle Access both on- and off-site during a six-month period and closely scrutinized the service organization’s control objectives, activities, and operations assuring compliance in the areas of security, change, incident, and facility management in the data center environment.

“The SAS 70 certification assures our customers that we maintain and deliver high levels of service excellence and performance for Sarbanes-Oxley, HIPAA, and PCI-compliant organizations that require a SAS 70-audited data center to operate their businesses,” said Mark Barlow, chief operating officer of Castle Access. “These are top-of-mind issues for many business leaders, and we understand how important it is to provide them with a secure environment for their collocation, data hosting, and IT infrastructure needs.”

The issuance of the SAS 70 Type II report assures stakeholders that appropriate internal controls are being met and that Castle Access is properly handling client data. The audit report, which is available for viewing upon request, provides direct insight into Castle Access’ control processes, and verifies through an independent assessment that these controls were suitably designed and are operating effectively.
