Get in on the Ground Floor: Participate in an Open Forum Webinar

March 26, 2010

This blog was founded to chronicle and document questions generated by our readers in a series of Open Forums on data center issues. We've gotten away from that premise over the last several months.Today, however, I'd like to announce a return to fundamentals, by announcing an unannounced new Open Forum on electrical reliability. The event will be held in late June, and registration will be at webinars.missioncriticalmagazine.com.

I can tell you this. I'll be developing a speaker panel over the next few weeks, and I'd like to hear from you about which experts you would like to see on this panel. Mission Critical has terrific relationships with all sorts of experts in the industry, and I expect your voice would be enough to convince almost anyone to participate. Feel free to nominate yourself, too.

I'm also beginning to collect questions. Speakers at these Open Forum events address questions presented in advance by registrants or questions submitted live during the session.

I can also note that our staff expects significant industry support. For instance, we expect the sponsors to include one gen set manufacturer, one battery monitoring firm, one UPS manufacturer, and a monitoring and measurement software firm. Please submit questions to me at heslink@bnpmedia.com. And feel free to ask for more information about the event itself too.

Gilbane Company Event

Gilbane Company Event

The Gilbane Company hosted a wonderful event Monday at Bobby Vans, a wonderful restaurant just blocks from the Occupy Wall Street protests. Nor surprisingly, Gilbane put together a wonderful program that included presentations from Kfir Godrich of HP, Peter Miscovich of Jones Lang LaSalle, and ABB. All the parties had gathered to celebrate Steel ORCA, a new 300,000 sq ft data center in New Jersey that will run on 100 percent solar energy. Dave Crocker, the CEO of Steel Orca, Dennis Cronin, and other company execs were also on hand to tell the story.
