Tier 1 Research (T1R), a division of The 451 Group, provides unique analysis of the hosting, managed services, third-party datacenter and Internet infrastructure sectors.
The report, written by Jason Schafer, data center senior analyst, and Michael Levy, research associate, said the product has “carved out a specific niche for itself in the modular market that will help it survive the modular battleground.”
The R.A.S.E.R. HD is EMS’s next generation micro-modular data center. The rack- level container offers IT loads from 20 to 80 kW with multiple redundant configurations while maintaining a power usage effectiveness level (PUE) of 1.1, among the lowest in the industry. Grouped together or as single units, more than 1000 watts per square foot of density can be achieved with little site preparation, design and construction.
Additional features Include:
- EMI shielding to protect electronic equipment from interference or disruption
- Seismic testing to zone 4 standards
- NEMA 4
- Deployable indoors or outdoors
- Environmental monitoring
- Field upgradable
- Onboard cooling, security and fire suppression
- Mobile/Re-locatable -- can be easily deployed while populated with equipment streamlining the supply chain
The latest report says, “Many midsized MTDC players operate data centers that are not equipped to accommodate high-density solutions, but they tout that they will leverage in-row cooling in order to do so. Rather than having to engineer these custom environments, which may be provisioned temporarily, these providers may have a team of R.A.S.E.R. (HDs) on standby to accommodate customer's high-density requests. Whereas the original R.A.S.E.R. sought to allow enterprises to manage their own private cloud, the R.A.S.E.R. HD facilitates colocation providers to enable their customer's cloud instances.”
“We are pleased to have an independent source such as Tier 1 Research examine the unique applications of the R.A.S.E.R. HD,” said EMS CEO Bill Stockwell. “The report provides further validation of the game changing capabilities the product has within the data center industry.”
