Integrated Design Group Funds American Council of Engineering Companies' Scholarship

Integrated Design Group has announced that proceeds from its 21st Century Data Center Symposium will fund a scholarship through the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC). ACEC’s local chapter, known as the Dallas Council of Engineering Companies, will select an eligible graduating high school senior in April, 2012.

“Advancing the education of engineering students is a top priority for Integrated Design Group, so we are very pleased to fund this scholarship,” said Tony Asfour, principal of Integrated Design Group. “The Dallas Council of Engineering Companies has identified a stringent eligibility process, and we are confident that our funds will go to a very deserving student. We are anxious to meet this future engineer.”

Integrated Design Group also helps advance the professional skills of college students through its co-op employment program. Each year, bachelor degree candidates majoring in the fields of architecture and engineering are selected from a competitive pool of applicants to work in the firm’s headquarters. Working side by side with Integrated Design Group’s technical teams, subject matter experts and principals, the students gain unparalleled experience in designing data centers in a collaborative environment.

Integrated Design Group raised the scholarship funds at its Second Annual 21st Century Data Center Symposium, which was held in Dallas on May 19. The event attracted over 150 attendees representing all sectors of the data center industry. The full-day program consisted of seven sessions focused on the economic considerations of owning and operating a data center, as well as an economic development panel.
