APC By Schneider Electric Acquires Kell Systems

Kell Systems Ltd has announced its acquisition by APC by Schneider Electric. Since the formation of Kell Systems Ltd five years ago, the Marlow-based UK manufacturing company has quickly risen to become the leading global producer of what they call the ‘Server Room in a box’-a soundproofed IT cabinet. This allows server and network deployment wherever and whenever it is needed, saving space, cost, and deployment time.

The full range of Kell server cabinets, some of which are already available through APC as part of their Netshelter CX range, further enhances APC’s existing data center product suite to include office server storage that can be operated independently of or in conjunction with traditional server rooms, greatly reducing capital and running costs.

The combination of APC by Schneider Electric and Kell Systems generates tremendous opportunities for the unified business, and for customers, existing and new. For APC, the addition of Kell Systems’ office server enclosures will create an integrated portfolio of products and solutions to address the full spectrum of customer IT requirements.

“We are very excited to welcome the Kell Systems team to APC by Schneider Electric,” said Laurent Vernerey, president and CEO of APC by Schneider Electric. “The addition of Kell Systems to our existing portfolio is an opportunity to give our combined business market leadership in the server and network room/closet environment, and to bring innovation in the rack market, that uniquely differentiates us in the small systems space.”

David O’Coimin, Jt managing director of Kell Systems Ltd, added, “Kell Systems is delighted to be part of the APC by Schneider Electric brand. The Kell solutions sit at the forefront of an IT infrastructure revolution, driving new business capture while addressing every-day cost and eco-concerns. Together with the Schneider team, we now have the mandate, the reach and the power to engage, create and provide solutions on a sophisticated global scale. We’re relishing the prospect.”
