CoolIT Systems, Inc. (CoolIT) has announced a collaboration with Dell EMC to provide a factory-installed direct contact liquid cooling solution to address power and cooling challenges for a wide range of customers, especially in verticals such as high performance computing (HPC) and high frequency trading.

This new offering enables customers to order factory-installed and warranty supported, liquid cooled Dell EMC 14th generation PowerEdge servers with corresponding CoolIT heat exchangers, manifold products and services to deliver a complete data center liquid cooling solution. The cold plate solution, designed and manufactured by CoolIT, uses warm water to cool the CPUs, eliminating the need for chilled water. Dell EMC customers employing liquid cooling will realize competitive benefits by lowering their cooling costs while increasing compute density and maximizing performance of their servers.

The newly designed Dell EMC 14th generation PowerEdge server portfolio forms a secure, scalable compute platform that is the ideal foundation for research, cloud, analytics or software-defined data center initiatives. By integrating the CoolIT Systems DCLC™ custom solution, the liquid cooled PowerEdge will help enable greater performance, efficiency, density and scalability for its customers’ data centers. Providing a readily available PowerEdge server complete with robust liquid cooling will help Dell EMC’s customers reduce integration time and money spent on third party cooling hardware, while ensuring compliance with warranty terms.

“Dell EMC is committed to working with leading innovators and researchers worldwide with the goal of expanding HPC to drive critical scientific and research advancement, as well as economic and global competitiveness,” said Kash Shaikh, Vice President of Marketing and Product Management for Ready Solutions at Dell EMC. “Dell is proud to work with organizations like CoolIT Systems to empower our customers to get the most out of their HPC systems.”

“As data center demands continue to rise globally, Dell EMC is at the forefront of delivering highly efficient, factory-installed liquid cooled PowerEdge servers,” said Patrick McGinn, vice president product marketing at CoolIT Systems. “CoolIT Systems is proud to enable greener data centers through its patented Direct Contact Liquid Cooling technology and anticipates further success from the innovative collaboration with Dell EMC.”
