I would like to welcome you to the show issue of Mission Critical’s first Data Center & Computing Conference and Expo. In this issue we are covering the products you will find on the Expo floor as well as a profile of our inaugural Facility Manager of the Year, Matt Gleason of CoreSite, by Andy Lane our “Talent Matters” columnist.

EXPANDED EDITORIAL COVERAGE

But that is not all. As of this month, we have revamped our editorial calendar to include more IT coverage and Andrew Hillier of Cirba kicks things off with an in-depth look at the software-defined data center. In addition, Chris Avery of Electronic Environments Corporation writes on modular generator and integrated paralleling systems; Jon M. Jonz of Hitec makes the case for diesel UPS; Scott Steiding and Mike Dolan of Morrison Hershfield discuss evolving strategies for data center site selection; Michael Striech and Saahil Tumber of ESD further the discussion by exploring site selection for technology intensive spaces; and Chris Johnston and Vali Sorell of Syska Hennessey look backward and forward at the state of the data center industry.

NEW COLUMNIST

I would be remiss if I did not mention our great lineup of columnists. Along with Chris Crosby, Paul Schlattman, and Terry L. Rodgers, Peter V. Funk and Ellen Zeifer are back in these pages with their column, “Legal Perspectives.” And our newest columnist who started last issue, Mav Turner of SolarWinds, is here. He will be on hand every issue to discuss IT security in the data center with his column titled, “Security Perspectives.”

It’s another great issue, if we do say so ourselves.
