An accessory to the company’s RPTCS Automatic Transfer Switch Control, the Russelectric DTWG Web Server Communications Gateway provides access to automatic transfer switch (ATS) data from any personal computer, smartphone, tablet, or other web-enabled device.  It also serves as a pass-through gateway, allowing access to the ATS through SCADA or building automation systems.

With the Russelectric DTWG, users can view stored information from anywhere inside or outside a facility, at any time of the day or night.  Displayed on a user-friendly dashboard, this information includes real-time and historical ATS, engine, and exerciser status and performance data for normal and emergency sources; switch configuration; trends; event logs; metered voltage (phase-to-phase); frequency; percent of unbalanced current; percent of unbalanced voltage; accumulated energy (KWH, KVAH, and KVARH); and per-phase and 3-phase totals for real power (KW), apparent power (KVA), reactive power (KVAR), and power factor.

The DTWG can provide e-mail alerts of power issues to assist personnel in correcting problems and managing power usage.  By remotely reviewing events prior to a problem, personnel can quickly and accurately identify the nature and cause of problems and institute procedures to prevent future occurrences. Through the DTWG gateway, users can also remotely schedule and initiate equipment exercises.

The DTWG stores 30 days of historical data, which can be easily downloaded to analyze power usage and trends, power reliability, and power quality for the monitored facility’s load.  This data can be used to identify historical and real-time trends in energy usage as well as opportunities for energy-cost savings.  Often, data will be detailed enough to allow analysis by work shift, enabling both macro and micro power-usage recommendations.

The standard Russelectric DTWG supports the Modbus-RTU through its serial ports and can serve as a Modbus master or slave.  With optional field-installable modules, the gateway can be configured for the following networks:  Profibus, CANopen, EtherNet/IP, Profinet-IO, ControlNet, DeviceNet, EtherCat, Modbus-TCP, and Modbus-RTU.
