IDEAL Electrical has released a kit that allows telecom installers to forego the cost of purchasing several different hand tools to cut, strip,  and crimp low voltage cables, plus have a ready supply of IDC connectors on-hand for their next job.

The Telephone/Data Splice & Repair Kit (Catalog #33-719) from IDEAL features the multi-purpose Kinetic Super wire stripper that lets the installer alternate between stripping, cutting and crimping 22-24 AWG twisted-pair cables to prepare IDC splices -- including IDEAL and industry standard UR-I, UY-I, UB-I IDC connectors  or "jellybeans" -- all with a single tool that never needs to leave their hands. In addition to the tool, the kit also has a bonus 25 IDC connectors (UR-I, 3 wire butt splice).

The IDEAL IDC Kinetic Super IDC has a molded, ergonomic Santoprene handle and Thumb-Valley™ Finger Guide for comfort, along with a cushioned, textured grip that naturally cradles the user's hand, reducing muscle fatigue while also wicking away perspiration. The grip is wider than those found on other strippers so there is noticeably less impact on the palm. This design helps concentrate kinetic energy where it is needed most - the push zone. IDEAL engineers designed the handle to be comfortable regardless of which hand (right or left) the user prefers. Its ergonomic soft-grip helps to maximize comfort and minimize fatigue during prolonged use. The result is improved stripping accuracy and reduced hand fatigue.

Also contributing to the uniqueness of this stripper is its Pocket-Locket™ Locking Hasp. This feature, found only on IDEAL tools, promotes safe handling and storage. The Pocket-Locket automatically slides to lock the stripper into the engagement position when placed into a pocket or pouch.
