Compass Datacenters has earned Tier III Constructed certification from The Uptime Institute for its first completed data center in suburban Columbus, OH. The facility, which was built for American Electric Power (AEP), is a dedicated 1.2 MW data center built on Compass' 9.2 acre campus inside the New Albany Business Park, which is a hub for corporate headquarters, technology firms and other companies in the fast-growing Columbus region. This is Compass' fifth Tier III Constructed certification for completed data centers in the United States.

The Uptime Institute's Tier Certification of Constructed Facilities ensures that the completed facility delivered to customers truly adheres to Uptime standards and delivers the specifications outlined in the facility's design.

"This certification for our completed data center in Columbus continues our commitment to obtaining certification for the fully-constructed facility — not just the original design. This ensures that our customers are getting exactly what they paid for, and it is a demonstration of our belief in Uptime's rigorous process for certifying completed data centers," said Chris Crosby, CEO of Compass Datacenters. "Too often in our industry, customers are sold Tier-certified design only to find that there is a gap between what was promised and what was delivered. Customers deserve better, and Uptime's Tier Constructed certification protects customers by ensuring that the final facility meets all of the standards for a given Tier."
