Leviton has introduced the HDF3168 Fiber Distribution System, a high-density solution that consolidates fiber network patching in data centers. Suitable for large enterprise and cloud data centers, service providers and central office facilities, the HDF3168 System is used in the main distribution area (MDA) and serves as the main cross-connect patching location for all fiber channels. Fiber Distribution Systems

The HDF3168 Fiber Distribution System employs a unique patch deck design. One frame holds up to 22 decks, each configured with fiber cassettes, adapter plates, or splice trays. The frame has the capacity for 3,168 LC connections or 15,552 connections using 24-fiber MTP. It was designed to work with Berk-Tek Micro Data Center Plenum (MDP) cable, which offers an extremely small diameter for easier loading and maintenance.

The frame’s open design cuts time and labor for maintenance, as it allows unobstructed access to patch cord connections on the cassettes and adapter plates. It also includes rear doors that lock to protect trunk cabling and locking front doors (sold separately) that include one transparent side to allow visibility.
