Hurricane Electric has announced that it has established a Point-of-Presence (PoP) at Neutral Path Communications, a carrier-neutral wholesale broadband transport company in Rochester, Minnesota.  The new PoP will provide reliable and cost-effective connectivity between Neutral Path’s Upper Midwest clients and Hurricane Electric’s vast IPv4 and IPv6 networks.

“We are excited to reach customers in Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, and elsewhere in the Midwest via our partnership with Neutral Path Communications and our Rochester PoP,” said Reid Fishler, Hurricane Electric’s director of carrier services. “Access to Neutral Path’s diverse communication routes through Minneapolis and Kansas City will allow us to provide improved fault tolerance, load balancing, and congestion management in our IP connectivity services.”

“Hurricane Electric’s connectivity services and solutions are the best in the industry,” said Derek Fisher, Neutral Path Communications’ co-founder and principal. “This partnership with Hurricane Electric allows us to enhance the connectivity options we provide to our customers.”

The new PoP, which marks Hurricane Electric’s second expansion in the past month, provides access to IPv6 and IPv4 systems and services using 10GE (10 gigabit Ethernet), GigE (1 gigabit Ethernet) and 100Base-T network connections.
