This December 2007 white paper builds on previous analysis of total electricity used by servers in the U.S. and the world to estimate the regional distribution of electricity used by servers. Total world electricity used by servers and the associated cooling and infrastructure equipment roughly doubled from 2000 to 2005, to about 123 billion kWh.
